Outdoor Entertaining – A.S.A.P: As Simple As Possible

If you’re like me, you’re thinking it’s about time for some outdoor parties. Let’s bare those pasty legs and get our flops out from Summer Storage – it’s time for a barbeque!
A simple one, that is — because if it’s not simple, I won’t do it. Follow these guidelines for throwing party that is easy on you and gracious for your guests.
ASAP Hors D’oeuvres:
Vegetable Plate (carrots, red or green peppers, celery, mini tomatoes) with hummus
Tortilla Chips with guacamole and/or salsa
Cheese cubes with toothpicks
Mixed nuts
A.S.A.P Drinks:
• Non Alcoholic
Sparkling water
Cranberry Juice (note: add limes if you have time)
• Alcoholic
Depending on the crowd, I would either go for wine, beer or cocktails. If you have time, you can prepare sangria or a margarita pitcher. If not, here are normal supplies to make sure your guests have what they need:
White wine, chilled and red wine
Bottled beer and bottled cocktails (think: Mike’s Hard Lemonade or bottled cosmopolitans)
A.S.A.P Yard/Ambiance:
Pick up dog poop
Mow your grass
String party lights or light (glass-protected) votives
Windproof napkins, silver wear, plates – you can do this by either having “real” plates/silver wear or by using brushed-off-rocks.
