For women, sometimes it feels like our emotions and bodies are out of control. Here are some simple tools to help calm your nervous system down:
Stroke the back of your hand with the other hand to soothe yourself when you’re stressed or emotional.
Open the pelvic area and breathe into that space. Yoga poses like this increase blood and energy flow to the uterus, which can help with cramps and nurturing the body.
Try the herb Vitex Agnus Castus to balance mood swings and menstrual issues. This nurtures the pituitary gland, which can get overworked during hormonal shifts.
Also try taking Rodhiola, which comes from the mountains in Russia and Tibet where it is difficult for things to grow. Rodhiola is supposed to help the adrenals, neurotransmitters in the brain and the body adapt to stress. Note: For girls going through puberty, this should be taken in moderation and in small doses.
